The devastation in Pakistan is catastrophic.

According to the UN, floodwaters have affected 20 million Pakistanis. Over 1,500 people have died and 800,000 have lost their homes.  Pakistan’s government reports that 10% of this nation of 180 million is now destitute and 20% of Pakistan’s land is submerged by the contaminated floodwaters.

The catastrophe according to UN Secretary General, Ben Ki Moon who after quickly assessing the devastation publicly proclaimed via ABC News that "the magnitude of the problem; the world has never seen such a disaster. It's much beyond anybody's imagination," he said. "This is a long-term affair; this is a two-year campaign. We have to consider that and keep that in mind." He continues, "For two years we've got to give them crops, fertilisers; we've got to give them seed; we've got to look after them, feed them, for two years, to bring them back to where they were. And they will still not be where they were."

This is the time where we need to collectively stand together and help those who are clearly cut off from the rest of the world.
