Gearing up for some sizzle on location in LA

Fashion-istas: While the rest of my team is getting red-carpet-ready for Anokhi's 4th Annual Gala event in Toronto on Feb 5th, I am gearing up to put some sizzle in our summer 2010 issue-on location in sunny California. Putting together some shoot ideas with my photographer-soon-to-be-creative sidekick, David Jackle - and very excited about my inevitable discovery of South-Asian influenced designers, models and artists in this devilish city of angels ;/ Looking forward to building a team for my first ever location shoot with Anokhi Magazine. california and south asian fashion are not on the same boat. I go to California once a year, typically for 2-5 weeks. Only places to actually shop for South Asian clothing in the Los Angeles area is a place called Pioneer Village. For the most part, it is overpriced and outdated. Californians are not to be blamem for this, with their busy lifestyles and the fact that everything is not so close by, it gets hard to stay connected with the latest runway trends from India.
