Writer Guidelines

Award-Winning ANOKHI is North Americas longest running targeted mainstream South Asian Fashion, Lifestyle & Entertainment magazine. As the leading publication to all things related to fashion, beauty and lifestyle, ANOKHI serves a fusion audience that knows the face of today's female - a face that comes in all colours.

Accordingly, ANOKHI Magazine is looking for writers to join our talented writing team.  We are a fun yet hard-working group that are passionate about making award-winning ANOKHI Magazine the best it can be, and we welcome original and innovative editorial ideas.

To succeed as an ANOKHI editorial contributor, you should be an energetic, deadline driven journalist who thrives on the challenges of a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for developing creative and lively articles related to fashion & beauty, health & wellness and lifestyle issues of interest to contemporary, stylish and brand savvy women 18 to 44.

Ideally, the writers we seek will possess some writing and reporting experience and show a flair for magazine features and personality profiles. An undergraduate degree (preferably in journalism) would be ideal, but you must have a solid knowledge of the topics and trends that we cover.  So if you think you have the knowledge and necessary flare for writing we seek, let us know.   It just might be time for you to become part of the ANOKHI Editorial Writers Team.

Writer Submission Requirements

When submitting an article to ANOKHI:

• Please state the section (your area) of expertise & interest
• Address editorial submissions to the section editor (contact information is listed on our website as well as on the masthead)
• Avoid content that we've already covered (We're looking for fresh & innovative material)
• ANOKHI is an international magazine, so please avoid locally biased stories unless they have relevance to our greater audience
• Submissions must be in Microsoft Word
• Follow the CP Style Guide and use UK (British) spelling
• Sidebars and resource boxes are encouraged so please indicate your ideas for them in relation to your article idea
• When conducting research where applicable, please ensure that it is done in a thorough documented manner
• If you have writing samples, please send them; ANOKHI cannot accept responsibility for returning writing samples
• We do not accept unsolicited proposed editorial submissions
• All unsolicited submissions become the property of ANOKHI Magazine

Unfortunately, since we receive numerous submissions, we cannot respond to each and every submission. However, a member of our team will contact you should we feel your idea is something that will be of interest to, and intrigue ANOKHI Magazine's readers.

ANOKHI Magazine's Market:

• Please read the magazine to familiarize yourself with the content, writing style and voice
• Target market are fashion conscious, style savvy, educated, career oriented South Asian Females ages 18-44
• 60% of magazine's editorial will be Canadian content
• 20% of magazines' editorial will be UK (British) content
• 20% of magazines' editorial will be US (American) content
• Submissions need to reflect audiences in the three stated markets
