TrustLaw asked professionals, academics, health workers, policymakers, journalists and development specialists to rank 19 countries of the G20 in relation to the overall best and worst country for a woman to live in.
Germany, Britain, Australia and France ranked top five countries out of the Group of 20 in the poll. The US came in sixth with conflicting opinions due to reproductive rights and healthcare.
Saudi Arabia on the other hand, where women are well educated but banned from driving and have only just been given voting rights (2011) came in 2nd to last, before India. Other countries that ranked low were Indonesia, South Africa and Mexico.
The EU was not included in the survey.
